General Rules

Fishing is by permit only
- Currently no fishing is permitted on the lake, west of the dividing
road.

Ballyshunnock is a natural amenity and we ask all
anglers to respect it, by taking home their litter.

Anglers are asked to use barbless or de-barbed
hooks and to return fish to the water with care.

Where the club has organised a match or a juvenile
training session, pleasure anglers are asked
to vacate the required pegs for the duration of the event.

No fishing is permitted in the area surrounding
the tower and the pump house.

Coarse Angling Rules
- Taking of coarse fish from this fishery alive or dead is strictly
forbidden.
- The killing of coarse fish is strictly forbidden.
The sole and extreme exception is in the
case of a gravely injured fish.
- All legal methods are allowed for coarse fishing, including maggot
and groundbait.
- Anglers are expected to have appropriate tackle to ensure the safe
and healthy return of all fish.
( i.e. disgorgers , knotless nets, etc.)
Game Angling Rules
- Spinner, fly and bait fishing are allowed for game fish.
- No trout less than 30cm can be killed.
- Anglers may only take up to three trout per day from
this fishery.
