The Need for Permits

• Ballyshunnock is a managed fishery and permit returns help to support the development of this amenity.
• With around 500 young people offered tuition and fishing each year most of the permit funds are invested in this programme.
• Trout stocking is an annual requirement, the only source of funds for this is again the permit.
• Maintenance of water quality by introducing barley straw is supported by permit funds.
  In 2006 Ballyshunnock remained open to anglers throughout the angling season, while its
  neighbouring reservoirs were closed.
  
  The Cost of Permits

Day permits and annual permits are available for this fishery. Permits are valid for both coarse and game angling. Three day permits may be exchanged for an annual permit, without further charge, at any of the outlets listed below.
